Colne PROBUS Group were treated to a memorable visit to the Colchester Society of Model and Experimental Engineers site in Lexden. Our hosts briefed the team on the society, it’s expansion and development of the site and how it is reaching out to groups such as ours to raise awareness – and who knows, even participation.

In glorious sunshine we were given the opportunity to tour the site, examine some of the wonderful models on display – and of course ride the railway on models built entirely from scratch by the dedicated and rightly proud members.

The enjoyment on the faces of those riding around the extensive track spoke volumes, and as a group we would recommend anyone to make a visit to such an inspiring venue.
